| So it's been forever and a day since I've written on Xanga. I don't know when or where I lost my motivation. Since my last entry, my fraternal chapter has hosted two events and we have another this Wednesday, December 7, 2005- Our Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant.
I would like to wish all the brothers of ALPHA PHI ALPHA FRATERNITY INC. a Happy 99th Birthday!! I just feel honored to be in that number to celebrate the glorious happenings of our esteemed fraternity. This fraternal bond is one in which no man can put asunder.
| So, I recieved my scores back and they were truly a blessing. Knowing
that I hadn't taken two very helpful classes, I was very happy with my
score because now I know that I can make the score I want in April. I
have already began my review of all the material. I think taking the
exam one time really helped focus my energy in the direction of being
fully prepared for what comes next. This exam is the only thing
standing in the way of applying, therefore this obstacle will be
overcome by the grace of God. I know that it is only he who will help
me to achieve my goals. I know from whom my help cometh. God continues
to provide as he always will.

| Oh Xanga, well I know you guys have heard of the movie "Sleepless in Seattle", just call me "Carless in Columbus". I will be bumping the curb for the next two weeks. My beautiful 1994 Honda Accord EX will be getting new brakes, calipers, rotors, tires, and a tuneup. It hurts so bad not to be able to just get up and go to Wal-Mart or anywhere for that matter. I feel restricted, restrained, but never away from the presence of God. Beyond the car issue, life is great.
I will be receiving my MCAT scores this Friday, so I am quite anxious to see how I did. Studying for the MCAT last summer was a huge task and I am so glad that I took the time to prepare. Regardless of how this score comes out, I know that I tried my hardest and that God has a purpose for every occurence in my life. Since I took the exam, I have felt such a resurgence in preparing for the April exam. For one thing, I took the exam a year early. Sure, I took all the "required" courses for the exam, but there are some courses that aren't required which might have helped me tremendously. For instance, Cell Biology and Genetics would have helped because of concepts that I had to rush to learn last summer. I was preparing for the exam with seniors and was a rising junior. Above it all, I am blessed, highly favored, and in expectation of the wonderful feats God has and continues to accomplish in my life.
| Fall Break is FINALLY here! Time to kick off my shoes and relax my feet, right?! I wish, next week I have my second Genetics Test and the following Monday, a Cell Bio Test. The Life of a Pre-Med, I tell you. Also, I need to be working on my research proposal. So many things to do, so little time.
Today, I went to see "The Gospel", which I must say was a very compelling movie. It was nicely put together with a lot of the tapings done in Atlanta. So, I recognized quite a few people and places in the movie. The all-star cast was great, along with the convicting storyline. If you haven't seen it yet, you have my blessing! It's a treat!
Yesterday, I went to the Morehouse v. Tuskegee Battle of the Bands/Stepshow. I couldn't believe that Tuskegee won the Battle of the Bands, I enjoyed Morehouse's band MUCH better. The stepshow part was okay, some bruhs from the Xi Tau Chapter (GA Southern) came down to step. They won 3rd place. I guess the coolest part of the show was the grad chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. from the Stone Mountain Lithonia Alumnae Chapter. They had a band theme, which was truly off the chain! I have never seen a grad chapter step like that! They won the show! It was creative, invigorating, and inspirational. What a show!
| Since I dropped that course it feels like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. Life is beautiful in everyway again. The sun is shining, birds are chirping, and the hills are abounding. My life feels centered, aligned, and I am in tune with the future.
Switching gears completely....
Do you ever notice that once you stop thinking about people they start trying to contact you like crazy? I mean, you really like someone alot and you decide to chill out about the situation and then they start showing serious interest. Well, I have had this happen quite a few times and find it quite interesting. It intrigues me to consider the possibility that once the person feels that they have lost your attention they'll do anything possible to regain that attention. Or could it be that they didn't notice your smile before and just wanna compliment you on it after the fact. Who knows, but its interesting. Anyone who has a tidbit of knowledge on the subject feel free to comment.
